The official photo ...

... taken by the lovely and talented Katherine Bomboy.

I know, I know, it's not about me. But I have to say thanks so much to all who helped me get ready for the cast and crew screening and the red carpet event: Sheryl and Kelly R. for babysitting, Kelly B. for opening up her closet to me in my pursuit of the perfect dress, Maggie and Mary Ann for loaning shoes and accessories, Pat and Amy for assuring me that I looked fine just before dashing out the door, Jerry at Village Cleaners for making sure Scott's suit was cleaned in time, and Renee Smith at the Loft for the highlights and hair style. It takes a village, people.

good night

Sweet dreams!

just the two of us

Me and hubs after the premiere. Now I'm off to pick up Jack Henry from Kelly's while Hubz goes to the after party. More professional photos to come.

its starting

Please silence your cell phones and pagers.

the nuckleheads fom 821

Graham (left) and Eric (right). 821 served as one of the producers. Eric is one of Scott's good buddies from the old days - back when they both worked at Kanakuk Camp in Missouri. Graham looks like a movie star but he's actually a lawyer. So I better say only nice things here. I take back the nucklehead comment.

meet and greet

Hubz with the fabulous 821 Entertainment gals, Tessa and Denice. He would have never survived the process without these fantastic ladies.

Check out Hubz' laminate - that's for the talent. Woot!

Vip treatment

We kept waiting for them to kick us out of the reserved seats, but no, they were reserved for us. Sweet!

Meet the press!

I'm just so proud. Hubz did great walking the gauntlet. A shout out to our buddies Wayne Shepherd and Joe Carlson from Chicago (top image) - it was great seeing you on the red carpet!

Interviews!

You'll just have to wait to see my red carpet look! Hint: it's black.

and now for the best part of my day ...

... And every day!

Me and Hubz

I'm so proud of my man! So cool to finally see his name up there on the big screen!

And now, to the after party!

A lovely film with even lovelier music! And speaking of lovely, here's Hubz with one of the stars, Lily Mortoff.

Billy: the Early Years official trailer

Here's the Billy trailer. Visit the Billy Web site and click on "Official Trailer."

While we're on the subject ...

... of how great my hubby is ... check out this highly decorated short film, Winter: En Hiver, by Happy Trails Animation, which Hubz brought to life with his amazing melody. In his opinion, it's the best kind of movie of all: no dialogue.

Getting ready ...

OK, here's my outfit for tonight. It's a cool silky blouse with a cute tanktop underneath and my favorite jeans. This is for the cast and crew screening of Billy the Early Years. I can't wait to see all our amazing friends who worked on the film: Armie Hammer, Stefanie Butler, Nick Paladino, Tom Howard, Phil Naish, Ronnie Brookshire, Danny O'Lannerghty, Dave Dilbeck, Reggie and Ladyelove Smith, and so many more. Thanks to a team effort of fabulous moms, my red carpet outfit is nearly complete for tomorrow night. Everyone's pitching in to loan me their fabulous accessories. I bought a little black dress at Macy's as back-up in case none of the borrowed dresses work, so I'm covered either way. The main thing is hearing Hubz' music on the big screen. After all, this isn't about me (but it's fun to play dress-up!)

Roll out the Red Carpet!

The movie Hubz scored, Billy: The Early Years, is having its red carpet world premiere Thursday at the Regal Green Hills! The cast and crew screening is tomorrow night. So needless to say, it's a busy week for us, and babysitters have been procured.

The premiere is a fundraiser for the Nashville Film Festival and it's open to the public. You can get ticket prices and info here. Rumor has it some of the folks who contributed songs to the soundtrack will be there, like Sara Evans and Alan Jackson. And of course the main actors in the film, too, like Armie Hammer and Stefanie Butler, who play Billy and his wife Ruth.

I can't wait to hear Hubz' gorgeous score on the big screen. It's his dream of a lifetime. Maybe now everyone will know what I've always known: He's the most talented composer around. A true musical genius. He is amazing.

The movie will open in limited release (about 150 cities, including Nashville) the weekend of Oct. 10 and open wide after that.

The movie is about the Rev. Billy Graham when he was a young man, struggling with his faith, and the decision to become an evangelist. The movie was shot mostly in Tennessee and from what I have seen so far is going to be quite lovely to look at. I can't wait to see the finished product. I'll be blogging about it, you can be sure.

It's a wrap!

As of last night, Hubby is finally done scoring his first movie. It's called Billy: The Early Years and it's a feature film about the Rev. Billy Graham when he was a young man. Filmed in Tennessee, the parts I have seen are really lovely to look at, and of course the music is out of this world. Hubs has a great talent for composing orchestral music that will tear your heart out. It's lovely. And surrounding himself with some of the finest orchestrators, players, engineers and producers (a.k.a. his best buddies and softball pals) didn't hurt. This is the kind of work Hubs was born to do. When he was in kindergarten he was known to hold a cassette player up to the TV so he could record the theme songs of his favorite shows. The movie will be in theaters (in limited release) Oct. 10. Notable actors in the film include Armie Hammer and Martin Landau and it is directed by Robby Benson. Visit the Web site to see a "making of video." I'm so proud I could bust.
