turquoise beauty
you know how i am. when i see a gorgeous vintage car (especially a blue one), i've got to take a picture.
i saw this beauty pull in to a parking lot and i had to hop out and say hello.
turns out owner anthony is a sweet guy and let me take pictures of his ford galaxy 500xl.
fyi, this car is famous. it has been in multiple music videos and was driven around by delta burke in the title sequence of her short-lived nashville-based sitcom, delta.

more fun with blue bikes

not only have i caught a glimpse on campus twice this week of the cool blue bike that i love (is it possible to stalk a bike?) ...
i saw this one in the window at apricot lane boutique in green hills mall.
i may need to go junk shopping this week and find a vintage bike of my own ...

i want this bike

i really do. i think it almost has the cache of the blue one i like.
but i don't want to go to a fancy store and buy it. i want to find it at a garage sale for $5 - vintage, all dinged up, chipped paint.
i want to fix it up and make it mine.
wide tires with gleaming white sidewalls, and a big ole retro bell on the handlebars.
yeah, that would be pretty sweet.

something blue

he's blue too

i saw this plate and had to get a snap - excuse the darkness and blur. if you can't read it, it says "BLUEMAN."
as you know, i do love all things blue, and as far as that lonely blue bike i've been watching, well, it's gone and the police say they didn't impound it, so i have to believe its rightful owner came to her senses and un-abandoned it.
however ... it's more fun to think that maybe BLUEMAN saw it, knew his gal would love it, and rescued the bike from its chains.
but who knows how these things go.

it's gone and i'm blue

the abandoned blue bike is gone.
all that remains is the note the campus police left on the seat, now taped to the guard rail where the bike once was chained.
was it impounded? did the owner claim it?
was it stolen?
the world may never know.
[UPDATE: i am inquiring as to what happened to the bike. if campus police indeed impounded it, i'm going to find out if it's up for grabs. we'll see.]

may i have it?

Dear Campus Police,
This blue bike has been chained here for more than five days.
Recently it was tagged for removal by one of your officers. Clearly the owner is oblivious to its value and it has been abandoned.
If it's all right with you, I'd like to have it for my own.
Please let me know if that is possible, and if so, where I may pick it up.
sincerely,
a lover of all things blue
