Bits of my weekend vol. 63.

i always think we didn't do much over the weekend and then i look at my photos and realize that a lot of fun and mayhem ensued.

for example ...

there were crabcakes a yolos just before seeing the help at regal green hills.

the crabcakes, and the movie, were perfection.

we did some swimming with our friends.

and the boy and i went to sonobana on white bridge road.

he loves sushi.

who knew an almost-six-year-old would dig sushi? but this one does.

maybe a little too much.

another thing he likes, as you well know:

dressing up.

his usual response to his reflection: "man, i look good."

he likes making funny faces in the mirror.

it can go on for quite a while.

as you can imagine, it takes a while to get out the door to church.

he's considering wearing bowties to kindgergarten.

hey, who am i to stand in the way of fashion?

his hair is a little out of control, but you can't have everything.

my little cutie.

here's one from this morning, dropping off at kindergarten.

kinda made mamma sad. but what are you gonna do?

the boy is rocking it out. just gotta stand back and let him be a star.

movie night: the help.

i recently read kathryn stockett's novel the help and was totally captivated by the story of african american domestic workers in the south in the 1960s.

i'm seeing the movie tonight and can't wait.

i also like that they've been using colby caillat's "brighter than the sun" in the ads. it's been on my playlist all summer long.

have a glorious weekend, my lovelies!
