chinese new year, or "spring festival" is today!
oh how i'd love to be in NYC's chinatown to join in the lavish parades, comestibles and conviviality.
instead i'll have to settle for celebrating the year of the rabbit here in nashville, where you have to do a bit of investigative work to find the celebrations.
there are some cool chinese new year events coming up in nashville, including this one, and this one.
sunday, feb. 6 at the nashville downtown public library, there will be a kids' celebration, with food, music, stories and dance. i think the boy will enjoy that.
and the chinese arts alliance of nashville will perform their lion dance at several area locations (pictured).
