one hundred percent heaven.

i wanted to give you an up-close look at our most recent field trip.

ah, krispie kreme donuts.

let's watch the magic together, shall we?

first the rings of dough rise as they go up and down the conveyors.

finally they are deposited into the boiling river of oil.

they brown perfectly on one side ...

... and then the other.

then they creep forward to the delicious waterfall of glaze.

what would we call this? a glaze fall? a frosting fall?

not sure.

once coated in the glaze, the donut workers scoop them up with a long stick and deposit them into a box.

then they turn on the "hot donuts now" sign and cars start lining up in the drive-through.

the best way to have a krispy kreme donut is warm. it's a puff of yeast and sugar in your mouth that is one hundred percent heaven.

sprinkles, cream fillings, frosting, none of it interests me.

i just want one of these.

or seven.

I always say, there's just something about watching your own donut travel down the grease river! We LOVE Krispy Kreme!
