So long, farewell!

I'd like to take a moment of silence to remember all of the cats we have loved and lost in our 11 years of living in a little West-of-Nashville wooded community where cats abound. No matter how hard you try to catch them and get them snipped, there are always more, multiplying like mad somewhere behind a tree stump. But there are dangers lurking in the woods, from coyotes to hunters. Kitties come and go from our lives and it is heartbreaking. We loved you well, we miss you much. UPDATE: For those who've asked, yes, we feed all of the cats on our porch each morning and night (along with a few raccoons and possums). We also treat them for fleas and ticks and take them to the doctor when they are sick or need vaccinations. We also put out soft beds and boxes lined with blankets when the weather is cold. And, as you can see, we name them.

Awww. Kitties are wonderful. My mom made an indoor cat out of the last surviving barn cat on our farm several years ago. Now Pete is living it up in the house -- and ruling over a 100 pound labrador!
