did you know that if you mix cornstarch, water and food coloring you can make a gooey substance that will keep a 5-1/2-year old busy for hours?

well it's true. and i have the photographic proof.

it has this amazing consistency. it's a liquid, and a solid at once.

two cups cornstarch to one cups water, for those following along at home.

you can make different colors.

and drown superheroes in it. (it easily washes off in warm water.)

help! help!

oh the humanity.

we also took millie to the vet. she has kidney stones.

and a bladder infection.

she only bit me twice while getting her temperature taken.

and by the end of the weekend, i learned how to administer oral antibiotics to an ornery cat.
