snow day

all of the schools are closed.

the grocery stores' shelves have been emptied of milk and bread.

salt trucks worked furiously throughout the night.

but the 90 percent probability of one-to-three inches of snowfall by morning did not materialize.

instead, i would categorize it as a "light dusting."

this morning, the roads weren't even slick.

i had to break it to the boy that there would be no snow ball fights or snow men to build.

so we licked our wounds at red tree coffee with cinnamon rolls and ginger snap cookies and came on in to work and school in hopes that a little more might fall later today.

it is tennessee, after all, so we have to take what we can get.
