The chaos outside my window

Here's a car crash that happened outside my window just now. Oddly, I didn't hear it happen. A co-worker came down to look out my window and see what was going on. Usually I can hear a screech and then that horrible thud. I guess the rain made the pavement slick and that prevented the screech. But what about the thud? Odd that I didn't hear it. Anyway, it's getting cleared up now. I kind of wonder why two firetrucks, two ambulances and five police cars are needed, but I guess it's protocol. A car swerved off the road, crunched two parked cars and flattened a parking meter. Luckily it didn't crash into the plate glass window at Jason's Deli.
