Diwali is the Hindu "festival of lights," which celebrates good conquering evil.
Vanderbilt is having a student-run music and dance performance for Diwali that I'd like to attend. It totally knocked my socks off last year. It's pure joy to watch. Check it out Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at Langford Auditorium. A fabulous dinner of Indian cuisine precedes the event at 5. Cost is $12 for both or $8 for the performance only. If you don't want to wait that long, Sri Ganesha Temple in Bellevue is holding celebrations all day today. Or, pick up some chicken tika masala and pop in a Bollywood DVD when you get home from work. Happy Diwali, y'all!
