Try, try again

OK, so the carrot cake cupcakes were an absolute and utter failure. The cake tasted awful and was gummy. The cream cheese icing was good, but then I decided to add some lemon juice to it to give it a little kick and it turned bitter. So all of the icing and cupcakes went into the trash. I made chocolate ones after that with Reese's cups inside and they were OK. I then went back to my tried-and-true lemon cupcakes just to get my confidence back and those turned out great. Jack Henry's class will be enjoying them later this afternoon. What can I say? I'm not a natural in the kitchen, but I'm trying.
