Going back to my people
No, silly, I'm not Amish, as so many of you assume. Mennonite is not the same thing, my dears. However, on Wednesday I am traveling back to my hometown in Illinois, where I grew up on a Mennonite farm. It is a wonderful (and unique) heritage. Although my parents are now living in town, we'll go visit my cousin's farm and see the John Deer tractors, cattle and horses. I think Jack Henry will love it. The turkey farm, which my cousin also runs, doesn't have any birds right now. The chicks arrive later in the summer. I'll keep you posted on my trip as we go along. It is Jack Henry's first plane ride so wish us luck.

But will there be cupcakes? ;-)
I plan to have a cupcake-making party with my sisters! After all, we Mennonites have what the Amish do not: electricity.
Sounds like a real drag. Although I'm not really sure what a Mennonite is. I hear they don't have electricity. How will I play my DVD player and watch "Wonder Pets". Man.... I wish Daddy was going. He rocks! I'm a bit nervous to fly. Oh well... I'm sure I'll get a shot of cough medicine to take the edge off. I'm not worried a bit... My mommy is the best! She will take good care of me. I'll see you when I get back! JH
My bad.... I was told they have electricity. Sorry...
Sounds like so much fun. Jack Henry is going to have a blast, and he will do great on the plane ride! I need to give Mary this link, but I don't want her to be disappointed, she thinks that you are Amish...
