we recently attended a very fun birthday party for bff ryan and his little brother jack-jack. it was a nashville predators hockey theme, and even gnash the mascot showed up to sign autographs and take pictures with the kids.

i generally speaking have an aversion to people in mascot costumes (i had a bad experience -- a story for another day) but this one was incredibly mellow and the kids had fun.

we even got vouchers for free pre-season tickets.

what a fun concept for a birthday party! the boy's sixth birthday is coming up and i have no idea what we'll do. there are bouncy parties, gymnastics parties, arcade parties, you name it. it's just so hard to narrow down the choices, most of which cost a lot of money.

so this year we may combine efforts with our friends with september birthdays.
